Scary Mary Trailer: Disney’s Mary Poppins Gives The Creeps

I was not even in the double digits in age when I had first seen Disney’s 1964 musical film Mary Poppins. And although I have little memory of the full movie, I do remember bits and pieces from it, especially her floating about in the sky with her umbrella.

Video from the original movie:

So why am I writing a post on a movie this old? Well, because this post isn’t about the movie but a scary recut trailer version made based on the movie. This one minute long trailer called “Scary Mary” compiles together some scenes from the movie and adds some terrifying music. The end result is pretty amazing. The cheerful nanny turns into a magic wielding witch of sorts.

The video trailer was made by Christopher Rule. The rest of the description is below:

“This contains the musical piece “A Violent Attack” composed by Caine Davidson for the film ‘An American Haunting,’ “Stay Awake” written by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman for Disney’s ‘Mary Poppins,’ and stock sounds from iMovie.” Clips filmed with a Penasonic MiniDV camera and edited on iMovie.”

The trailer, Scary Mary, is pretty old (from 2006). But I still thought of posting for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Here’s the recut trailer… Scary Mary
